Welding: Basics Of Propane & Steel Fire Art To Be Rescheduled

$250.00

This two-day class was canceled in December, but will be rescheduled for May or June.

If you would like to be included, please email erin@telluridefirefestival.org to get the updated information. Thank you.

Times: Saturday, 9am-4pm, Sunday, 9am-4pm or until project is completed.
Fee: $250
(includes all materials, all safety gear, and a face mask if you do not have one)
Location:
Deep Creek Mine, 10 minutes from Town
Participants need to bring a sack lunch and water.
Open adults and youth age 13 and up.
Space is limited to be able to follow Covid safety protocols due to the pandemic. A face mask will be required.

Please note: A four-wheel drive vehicle will be needed to drive up the road to the Mine.

Description

Times: Saturday, 9am-4pm, Sunday, 9am-4pm or until project is completed.
Fee: $250 (includes all materials, safety gear, gloves)
Location: Deep Creek Mine, 10 minutes from Town

Learn the process of creating a steel fire art project from scratch using reclaimed materials. This 2-day class will go over the basics of creating your own fire sculpture. Day one of the class, we will go over the basics of shop safety, welding basics, metal manipulation, and adding fire elements, design process and sourcing materials. Day two will be a build day, building a collaborative fire sculpture out of steel and adding propane elements. Workshop is limited to 8 people for safety during the pandemic.

Students should bring their own lunch and water.
One student will win the sculpture through a drawing at the end of the workshop.

Getting Around

Free gondola: Travel from Town to Mountain Village Center Plaza and back. Location: On Gus’s Way, between Aspen and Oak Streets.
 
Free Town Shuttle Bus: Galloping Goose stops at every bus stop (if people are present) runs a loop around town— east on Pacific St. and West on Main St. — every 15 min. The Goose also stops at the gondola station.
