Tiffany N. Perry-Marks began her belly dance journey like so many – timidly wriggling to instructional DVDs in her living room. It was a college belly dance course that changed her life, transforming a nascent interest into a life-long passion. This time with the crucial difference of a real, liveinstructor igniting a deep love of the form and began her study of the cultural and historical evolution of the dance, the topic which would later bring her to Cairo, Egypt for a semester as part of a Mellon-Mays undergraduate fellowship.
Beginning her training in American Cabaret and Tribal Fusion, Tiffany found her “home” in Egyptian Cabaret style (raqs sharqi) while studying in Cleveland, OH and later in Washington, DC. In Colorado, Tiffany has performed in the 2018 Telluride Dance Collective Fall Showcase and the 2019 Telluride AIDS Benefit Fashion Show, then participated in the 2019 Telluride Dance Collective Mass Movement showcase.
*The belly dancing class will lead to a performance opportunity for participants to be in the Telluride Fire Festival Show on The Palm main stage December 6th for dancers who attend the full class series.
